Abstract/Description First fundraiser performance for Melbourne Workers Theatre and the Turkish Resource Centre. Musical performance by Lenko, followed by MWT’s “The Aftermath”. After interval, three skits were performed by Hassan interspersed with music, followed by folk dancing – not included in footage. MWT’s fourth production, The Aftermath was written and devised in consultation with a large number of workers involved in industrial action during the 1980s. Explores the impact on the working lives and friendships of Victorian nurses after their involvement in a successful 50-day strike. 1:16 – 7:00 Senol Mat – introductory speech in Turkish. 7:00 – 8:36 Patricia Cornelius introduces the evening, talks about the history of the show, The Aftermath, and pledges solidarity with Turkish political prisoners and the Kurdish people. 8:37 - 9:10 Senol Mat introduces Lenko (in Turkish) 9:10 - 22:25 Lenko (Mark Dunbar and Irine Vela) perform 22:26 – 1:12:34 performance of The Aftermath (joined by director, Robyn Laurie, for curtain call at 1:10:53.
