| Abstract/Description |
Formerly the Union Theatre Repertory Company, the Melbourne Theatre Company dates from 1968. It is Australia's oldest extant professional theatre company. Artistic directors of the MTC include John Sumner, Ray Lawler, Wal Cherry and Roger Hodgman. The extensive collection covers the history of the company from 1953 onwards. Artefacts include set models and costumes. Manuscript material includes correspondence with Patrick White relating to the production of "Season at Sarsaparilla" (1962) and draft material from John Sumner's book "Recollections at play" (1993). |
