Description |
Charles Marovitz has transformed Shakespeare's comedy into a Gothic tragedy where Petruchio not only tames his shrew, but breaks her spirit and destroys her independence. During rehearsals, the text of The Shrew often provoked intense discussion among the cast. Our own prejudices were confronted and our beliefs challenged.
