Sybil Silvers, forced from a singing career by increasing deafness, has re-invented herself as a telephone tarot-card reader and psychic. She also tipples as she talks, and her advice to callers becomes more and more bizarre. But she is not alone with her clients: visited by figments, characters from her past and present, she is also grappling with her own impending abyss. |
