Description |
Set in 1938, as Nazi Germany is marching headlong into war, "Tonight: Lola Blau traces the life and loves, the triumphs and tragedies of a young [European and jewish] cabaret performer". Following a series of incidents, she escapes from Austria to Switzerland, then to America, intending to further her career. She becomes the typical American sex-star and is disillusioned with stardom and fame, relying on liquor and pills to cope with the lifestyle. She decides then to return to Europe to find her lover who has escaped the prison camps. |
