Description 'Underwood,' the home of Sir Charles Rowlands, is situated on the Welsh border. The play, which extends over a period of 35 years (from 1910), deals with the love of the young Sir Charles for Germaine, a dancer, who eventually rises to Prima Ballerina, and becomes immortalised as 'Germanova'.
