| Further Information |
Dunedin Rep's 49th production. Offstage choral effects by pupils of Mr Ernest drake. Musical items by Mr J. A. Wallace's Student Orchestra. Miss Bessie Thomson, who was responsible for the formation of the Dunedin Repertory Society in 1933 and has been its permanent producer since its inception, has retired from that position. Miss Thomson has staged 45 plays, and at the conclusion of The Corn Is Green on Saturday night she was the recipient of a gift on behalf of the committee of the society. In acknowledging the presentation, Miss Thomson said that she would produce occasional plays for the society, including one in August for patriotic purposes. (Evening Star 1 May 1944, page 2).
