| Description | Connects Asian and South Pacific cultures in a reflection on space, nature and art. Using the concept of the picture scroll and the ancient art of Suminagashi, the dancer figure voyages through digitised forms suggesting sentient hills, mountains, ocean geology, weather systems and the Five Elements. Japanese dancer Meri Otashi embodies in her movement a choreographic meditation and a physical response to the multi-dimensional world of the EMAKI picture scroll. Through a series of narratives, Meri Otoshi conveys the human figure held deeply in nature. | |||||||
