| Description |
This is principally a theatrical experience, with strong mime narrative and buckets of melodrama but surprisingly little blood. Taking its main cues from the novel, the ballet version presents a creepy Count Dracula preying serially upon hapless, instantly besotted female victims, left unprotected overnight by their men folk. But through dance, without words, these seductions are so stylish, the advances so svelte and cat-like that the implicit violence only registers after the first biteā¦. |
