| Description |
"The show is based on real people and events - Grace Banker was the Chief Operator of the US Army Signal Corps in WWW1 and led a team of capable women, fondly known as The Hello Girls, who operated the switchboards and relayed important communications from the front lines in France to the Army Headquarters. The Hello Girls were the first ever American women to serve on the front lines but their contribution to the US war effort wasn't properly recognised until the 1979s. This production captures just a glimpse in the lives of these women - it's funny, lively and also incredibly moving and poignant." |
