An international percussion work of miniature proportions, System Building fuses percussion and architecture on an intimate scale. Artist Rosemary Joy has created a series of adaptable miniature percussion instruments, each inspired by the venue in which the work will be performed. The first performances were performed in and inspired by Radialsystem V (Berlin), Watertoren West (Noorderzon Festival,the Netherlands), the Melbourne Recital Centre and CarriageWorks. System Building in China draws inspiration from the Ming Dynasty architectural features of Beijing. |
