Description |
"The play covers a free day in a convicted murderer's life when he is allowed out as an experiment in penal reform". He relives his past and expounds views on justice, female victims, life and death.
"The Murderer's Barbeque is a work concerned with issues of penal reform, capital punishment and Micky Broome's love-hate relationship with humankind. He arrives home on day leave (an experiment in penal reform), to discover that his parents have decided to disappear. Never one to be put down by misfortune however, Micky lights up the barbeque, and as the steak, onions and potatoes sizzle, he chews his way through the psychologists, social workers, family and victims that garnish his appetite for justice." |
