The fembot - hybrid of woman and machine - embodies our deepest anxieties. Our dread of being destroyed by technology becomes more horrific when feminised, as though our ultimate fear is not only the rise of the machine, but the rising up of the female body. 'Uncanny Valley Girl', by trailblazing Sydney artist Angela Goh, merges live performance, text and a razor sharp soundtrack to reclaim the fembot icon and imagine it anew. |
