Programme: "My work is a continuing dialogue with the histories of my bodies and my relationships, both personal and to the art machine. My work is sited in the repeating voice of Echo calling back from that pool into which Narcissus gazed. In repetition and parody a shift may occur: to speak violation, to speak prostitution, to speak mental illness, to speak feminine subjectivity in a powerful voice that does not say victim. The dialogue with "art scene" plays with the whole commodification of the female artist within the sexual economy. The joke is on the wankers and mugs - Deej Fabyc" |
