WOMAD start George Telek, from Papua New Guinea, is back for his third Australian tour. His songs and hauntingly beautiful voice, traverse many musical styles, capturing the spirit of both the traditional and modern sounds of his homeland. Telek's acclaimed eponymous album, was awarded The Best World ARIA in 1997. Accompanied by David Bridie (My Friend the Chocolate Cake), Ben Hakalits (Yothu Yindi) and other friends, George will 'sing sing' up a storm over three nights. |
