| Description |
IN "The Improper Duchess," at present being played by the Independent Theatre at the Savoy, there is a vein of keen, but kindly, satire, which runs, like a scintillating thread, through the greater part of the text. It has something in it of the mocking spirit of Puck, combining all the mischief with an irony belonging more to the domain of sociological criticism than to anything fairy like. |
