This ground-breaking 'rock opera' is based on events surrounding the 1959 murder of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas and examination of those events in Truman Capote's true crime novel, In Cold Blood. The libretto uses testimony from the case combined with Pentecostal hymns from the late 50s and the performance is supported by an evocative black and white film to produce an experience that defies conventional thinking. |
