Description Love Story of the Century by Finnish writer Marta Tikkanen was "originally conceived as a long narrative poem and here adapted for the theatre company Monstrous Regiment by Clare Venables, it gives an autobiographical account of the author's marriage to a violent, incurable alcoholic. [...] Venables has divided the speaking in two, a dramatic device which lends complexity and variety to what is basically a monologue. Between them Gillian Hanna and Mary McCusker spin the tale, weaving in and out of past traumas and trials." (The Guardian)
