  					The surreal and poetic films of acclaimed French cinematographer Jean Painleve (1902-1989) are premiered at this screening and introduced by Brigitte Berg, Director of Les Documents Cinematographiques, Painleve's Paris archives. This program includes Painleve's acclaimed underwater documentary, Sea Horse (1934), his clay animation adaptation of Bluebeard (1925-38) with music by Maurice Jaubert, classic Le Vampir (1939-45) and the psychedelic Liquid Crystals (1978). |
