Twenty nightingales from Vienna, operettas in costume, madrigals, motets, folk songs. The choir gave concerts in Ipswich on 20 June 1939, Toowoomba on 21 and 22 June 1939 before returning to Brisbane for farewell performances in Brisbane on 23 and 24 June 1939. The programmes included Bastien and Bastienne by Mozart and Tales from Vienna Woods a musical play in costume written by Dr Gruber based on the waltz tunes of Johann Strauss. |
