This exquisite work was made seven years ago and represents the first contact of Mathilde Monnier with African performance and styles. It is a strong fusion in which one has the sense that a real collaboration occurred - that Monnier took every bit as much from the dancers from Burkina Faso as they took from her. In an elegant, simple and functional set by Annie Tolleter, the work also features dance, song and music from Mali, including a special treat in the performance of one of that country's most famous percussionists.
