Title Our Town. Remarkable Play. New Presentation Method.
Abstract/Description Thornton Wilder's "Our Town," which Doris Fitton presented at the Independent Theatre on Saturday night, is a hauntingly beautiful play. It deserts all the conventional standards of stagecraft. There is no scenery. In order to represent the main street, the shops, the gardens, the church, the cemetery of Grover's Corners, the author calls for nothing but two rose-arbours, two tables, a plank, and a dozen or so of chairs.
