| Abstract/Description |
The Billabong Operator costume is a blue unitard constructed in nylon lycra. The costume featured in the Nature segment of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony . It was worn by one of approximately 140 performers who carried several large blue cloths onto the field forming billabongs. At a certain point in the segment the cloths were turned over by the performers revealing cloths depicting platypus, fish, echidna, kangaroo, swan and lizard. The costume was designed by Eamon D’Arcy and manufactured by La Patrice at French’s Forest, NSW under the coordination of the Ceremonies Costume Workshop. |
