Darwin Festival is held on the traditional lands of the Larrakia people. Welcome to Country recognises the ancestral spirits who created the boundaries and land and allows safe passage to visitors.
Senior Larrakia woman Bilawara Lee and members of her family welcome us as part of an important Indigenous custom that has been practiced for thousands of years. Welcome to Country ceremony is testament to the rich and vibrant Larrakia culture. |
