In Steve Martin's adaptation of Carl Sternheim's 1910 farce, Louise Maske's world turns upside down when she finds her underpants around her ankles during a parade for the King. Her dogmatic, puritanical husband Theo is shocked and appalled, sensing a scandal that may spell his financial ruin.
