|Description||Aboriginal leader Noel Pearson is the speaker for the inaugural Mabo Oration.
Hosted by the Anti- Discrimination Commision Queensland and MC'd by Chief Justice, The Honourable Paul de Jersey, this important event is a tribute to Eddie Mabo, a torres Strait Islander who changed the course of Australian history.
Eddie Mabo challenged the claim of 'terra nulius' (no ones land) in Australias High Court. Although he died before tthe historic decision was announced in 1992, his legacy is one of reconcilliation based in law.
