Description Set in Paris in 1893, when the CanCan was declared an illegal dance. Several laundresses have been charged with dancing the Can Can and appear before the correctional court. One of the three judges is Aristide Forestierre. The girls have given false names and the police have been bribed so there is little to convict them on. Forestierre decides to find out where the women dance and see for himself. He meets La Mome Pistache, the owner, who flirts with him, not knowing he is a judge.
