The courtyard is a hive of activity as Tilli, Willi and Lili Viet arrive, two of whom have asignations with two of the tenants of the house. Lili has accompanied her sisters as chaperone. Baron Schober and other friends of Schubert also call in. However when the ladies go to leave they see their father has come to find them. The Baron, who knows Lili, comes to their aid
