| Description |
The American Chestnut tree is cursed with a disease that will kill it before it can mature, but the tree never ceases in trying to overcome this obstacle. This and other illnesses in the plant world are used as metaphors for social ills in Karen Finley's rivetting and controversial new piece. Her wickedly funny performance cuts between fables of unattainable growth and stories of unattainable domesticity that include cake baking, gardening and do-it-yourself projects. |
