In this 2014 renewed production, the Wooster Group uses a distinctly American voice to encounter the language of Shakespeare, evoking the powerfully suggestive and contradictory figure of the American "Indian". Drawing imagery, speech rhythms, and movements from eclectic sources, the Group portrays a besieged people, the corruption of sincere love and the downfall of a noble hero. |
