Cyril Talbot and his company of ventriloquist dolls was associated with the Harold Raymond performing troupe, who toured all over Australia raising funds for the Brighton Blind, Deaf and Dumb Association, including a number of events at the Hoyleton Institute Hall. |

Cyril Talbot was famous for being the only Australian ventriloquist to operate more than two dolls at one time, and was known to have operated four dolls in one set and five in another. The most famous of his dolls was Larry Brown who, at one stage, even had his own performing company, Larry Brown and Company, and was the judge of a fancy dress competition.
