Twenty years ago, Jeremy Elwood was reluctantly talked into doing his first ever stand-up comedy gig in a dark, smoke-filled (because you still could, back then) bar right here in Dunedin. He only did it because the MC had run out of performers and still had had time to fill, so he called up the only person in the front row whose name he knew. Jeremy was armed with a bunch of dumb 'jokes' he'd written during a dull lecture earlier that day and a few pints of dutch courage. It was….ok. It's been quite a ride since then. |
