Trainee nun Maria is sent to be governess to the seven children of widower Captain von Trapp. She teaches the children to sing, marries the Captain, and the family makes a tense escape from Austria on the brink of World War II. |

The children (other than Liesl) were double cast for different performances. There was an ensemble of singers and dancers, and a 10-piece orchestra conducted by Steve Miles. A sold pout season. (Star).
