| Description |
The posturing, the incredible use of expanses of stage, the vitality and grace of dance-like movement, and of course the Beaton scenery and costumes were too much to absorb at one viewing…. Fine as Laurence Olivier's and Vivien Leigh's performances were (his was the most moving yet humorous Sir Peter that could be imagined and her's an annoyingly coquettish and thoroughly delightful Lady teazle), still, what stands out is Peter Cushing's portrayal of Joseph Surface. |
