Description The story is that of a Lancashire miner, who being wedded to a young wife left on his hands by one of those fatal accidents which frequently occur in mining districts, and which deprived her of her parents, is ensnared by the polished arts of the seducer, and in a moment ol weakness leaves her honest though humble home to seek happiness in the gaiety and whirls of London life. … [She dies a premature and melancholy death.]
