Further Information Premiere: Wednesday, April 19, 1916. Alhambra Theatre, (London). Overseas Touring Company. North Island tour includes: Hawera 22 July; Wanganui 23 - 24 July; Palmerston North 25 July; Napier 26 - 27 July; Hastings 29 July. The electrical effects in this production are stated to be both novel and magnificent. One noteworthy spectacular effect is that of the ' Chu Chin Chow' scene at the close of the performance, with its striking lacquer vases and background and strange costumes, the scene suddenly transforming into ladders of electric light, occupying the whole of the stage.
