| Description |
The comedy was very much cut down, and we cannot but think that it is a great mistake on the part of the management to announce pieces which it is impossible to present fully within the time allowed for the performance, and then give only garbled versions of them. Such a comedy as Sheridan's School For Scandal should be given in its entirety or not at all. The liberty of mangling standard plays is being affected more and more by managers, and demands protest. |
