An old hall by a tidal bay; sailcloths festoon the rafters and wind chimes tinkle. The actors mill about, mixing with the audience. Eight o'clock arrives and it's time to cast the play. Pairs of actors come forward and audience members toss a coin to decide their roles for tonight's performance. This is Peripeteia Players, an Auckland company who unpick the fabric of theatre and stitch it up in inventive ways. |
