Set in the summer of 1936, Dancing at Lughnasa tells the tender yet humorous story of five unmarried sisters who live in the small Irish village of Ballybeg in a remote part of Donegal. The five Catholic women all experience conflict as the pagan harvest festival of Lughnasa is celebrated nearby. |
