Tasteless and terrific, trash belies its name, and is one of the best examples of local theatre I've seen. Review: Tribune 1/11/1998 A white trash black comedy.' Schmidt's debut as a playwright. Trash is about a group of young women who live in the suburbs. 'It's basically a slice-of-life, of their lives and what they have to do to survive, including taking a cask of wine along to the pub as opposed to buying it there.' Schmidt said. The interesting thing about Trash was a focus on the hierarchy of the friends and then seeing a shift. 'It shows how allegiances change.' The play is divided into 20 short films, which makes it seem filmic. (Anna Fyfe, BATS archive.). |
