In 1969 Gunter Guillaume (played by Peter Hambleton) climbed up the political ladder to become the personal assistant to West Germany's Left-leaning Chancellor Willy Brandt (Ray Henwood). By 1974 Brandt resigned after it was revealed Guillaume had all along been a spy for East Germany's Stasi secret police. |
