| Description | The company fairly revelled in its nonsensical plot…. Billie Lockwood who was 'discovered' in Australia and given her well-deserved chance by the late Lee White, scored the hit of the piece in the role of an amatory servant girl, 'Coddles', whose attacks on any male who happened to be adjacent were nothing short of alarming in their violence to the victims. Miss Lockwood played broad comedy with a winning way to her gaucheries that proved irresistible. Her time on the stage was all too short. [The French dancers] bring a truly Parisian atmosphere to the usual staidness of the theatre. Their dances are graceful, daring and acrobatic, with novel touches to steps that were watched with bated breath…. | |
