Also performed (in Wellington in 1896) as Wellington By Night. From the 22 August review: The scenery also deserves a word of commendation. The snow scene in the Octagon, showing a full view of the Town Hall and the enclosure containing the Burns statue, was particularly good, as was also the scene giving a view of the mail steamer at Otago Heads; and the audience manifested their appreciation of the scene painter's efforts by very demonstrative applause. Premiere production. Performance dates in Dunedin: 17 - 19 August, 4 September, 21 December 1895.
