[Campion] used a multiple level set designed by Raymond Boyce, with the pub imprisoned between a ramp on one side and a loft on the other; the narration was shared between male and female speakers, who spoke their commentary from a position by the ramp. Lighting was complex and sensitive, illuminating successive areas of the stage with spot precision…. |
