| Description |
The play's dilemma is an irresistable exchange: a wife and her love (Marthe) for the money that will offer the real freedom to her young husband (Louis). The action happens in one day as if the sense of life was contained in the present time and that by letting this moment pass, the characters would surely pass by their own lives. |
