Description Silas has spent most of his life trying to rid himself of memories of experience in the Maori Battalion. George Henare is Silas, a Maori Battalion veteran who returns to his hometown after 30 years of wandering. Weaving together past and present, love and tragedy, this is both a tale of mismatched love and a New Zealand story; about longing for the comfort and embrace of home and about the human scars left by our history.shot and killed during the war.
