| Description |
Two sisters meet in the house of their recently deceased mother to sort through her effects. The unfolding of events, past and present, takes place in the maternal bedroom, where a framed photograph of the young Queen Elizabeth II, soberly attired, surveys the overflowing racks of clothes in which 'Mother Dear' indulged. Amid contentious reminiscences of the family past, the discovery of a cache of letters received by 'Mother Dear' from secret lovers leads, along with much amusement, to the shattering of Lil's illusions and the achievement of a pax between the sisters. |
