Description Set in a remote island off the west coast of Ireland in 1934, it is a strange comic tale of how, when word arrives that Hollywood director Robert Flaherty is coming to make the documentary movie Man of Aran, all the locals want to be in the 'fillums'. None desire this more than Cripple Billy, if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life.
