Description Gem tells the story of Muse, a girl who wants to get married because she likes the idea of it. Bartlett says ther play is basically about relationships and the decadence of weddings. 'Muse gets caught up and is ion love with the idea of getting married. She gets all her friends together one week before to organise a wedding. They don't know whether she is in love with the guy or not.' (Anna Fyfe) The genre of American sit-com television shows like Friends is very apparent in Gem, a play about four young people who grow up, dress up and endlessly navel-gaze as one of their number prepares to marry (Bowron) Features hits such as ABBA's 'I do, i do, I do'.
