Description Whatungarongaro (Disappearing Eyes) is inspired by the saying 'The eyes of the people may disappear but the lad will always remain.' A blend od dance, waiata and dialogue, it tells the stories of Ruby and Willie and their children, Wiki and Dean, adrift in a harsh urban world with alcohol and glue sniffing the only comfort. They are watched by wairua (spirit) birds, whose home is the natural world.
